<image:title>Home - Our Practice…</image:title>
<image:caption>The prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods should be whatever the expecting/new mother needs in order for her to be physically and mentally well. We believe it should also encompass some level of peace and comfort as it is a time of transition and great change for the mother, the baby, and the family. That being said, our goal is for the mother to feel supported, empowered, and confident in her wellbeing and her choices for herself and her family, whether she be in the prenatal period, labouring, or postpartum. Supporting expecting and postpartum mothers is crucial because the health and wellbeing of the mother will strongly influence the outcomes for her child(ren), as research has shown time and time again.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - What we do…</image:title>
<image:caption>“The worst thing we can do for new mothers is plant the seed of doubt. To plant the seed that they are not doing well enough or not making the right choices for their child. Mothers have it within themselves to take care of their babies, and the best thing we can do is to nurture, nourish, and support that truth.” – Kayla Madder, Postpartum Doula</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Postpartum Doulas - Kayla Madder</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Kayla Madder and I am a Certified Postpartum Doula! I am a mother of three boys and have a wonderful husband. I am passionate about supporting new and expecting parents because I see this as one of the most important (and under-supported) times for North American families. I come from a ten-year background in the sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology, Psychology), so keeping my work as a doula evidence-based is critical to me. I want to offer you information and sources that are based on research, not anecdotes or trends. It is also important to me that I can provide you with support in a way that builds your confidence in your own decisions as a parent, and that when my time with your family is done (whether that be just after a couple hours, or weeks) that you feel self-empowered and knowledgeable as you move forward on your parenting journey. I have personally been a single parent, student-parent, married parent, breastfeeding mom, pumping mom, formula feeding mom, and so on… In addition to my own experiences, I have spent several years supporting and advocating for families prior to becoming a postpartum doula, so I can empathize with a wide range of family circumstances and choices. I come from a place of zero judgement and work hard to support you in your own choices for your child, your family, and yourself. I do this work because I am passionate about maternal and family wellness in this time when we can feel bombarded by conflicting information, feel judged for our choices, feel isolated from others and our prior selves, and when postpartum mood disorders (depression, anxiety, etc.) are on the rise. I truly work with the goal of happier, healthier parents, babies, and families, and would love to meet you to see how we could work together to best serve your family.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Postpartum Doulas - Anno Bell</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Anno and I am a birth and postpartum doula, a breathwork facilitator, and a somatic/ADHD coach, as well as mama to four bombastic humans. I began learning about all things pregnancy and birth 21 yrs ago when I was pregnant with our first baby, and FINALLY took my doula training in 2015, after 2 hospital births and two home water births and years of parenting my own tiny ones. I consider it an honour to be invited to support families in these most tender of moments, and endeavour to walk with gentleness and humility in both birthing and postpartum spaces. I believe that pregnancy, birth and postpartum days are sacred moments in a person’s life. Each step of that journey has the potential to be empowering and to help people connect deeply with their own incredible capacity for strength. By surrounding oneself with support people who trust the inate wisdom of birth and the body, as well as honouring their own inner knowing, clients can claim their strength and weave it into all other aspects of their lives, including the parenting of the new little people they have ushered into the world. When families are well supported in pregnancy, labour and the immediate postpartum period, they often experience a more peaceful transition into parenthood, which supports the development of a strong foundation for the family to grow together. I offer my clients the gift of non-judgemental, compassionate presence, prenatal education and whole person support throughout the prenatal, labour, birth and postpartum period. Together we will explore your upcoming birth (hopes, fears and practicalities) and discuss how you can prepare for both birth and parenthood. I will help you to understand some of what you might encounter during the birthing process and how you can most effectively advocate for yourself and your baby throughout. We will collaborate on how your birth support team can best support you physically, spiritually and emotionally during the birthing experience, and how you can experience more ease to the transitional period after birth. In a postpartum role, I work to support the family unit, including other children, partner, and the mom/baby dyad. The postpartum support is co-created by the clients/doula - based on what the clients perceive their needs to be in that moment. I believe in the power of communication in building relationships of trust and support, and I work diligently to bring that authenticity and connection to each of my doula/client relationships, so that both you (and your partner) feel heard, secure and supported throughout the process.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Postpartum Doulas - Shemiah Walker</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Shemiah, and I am a birth and postpartum doula! I thrive on quality time and connection, whether that is with friends, family, or furry friends. I love to make and create in every area of my life- cooking, baking, art, sewing, gardening- all of it! Creating things by hand, from scratch connects me back to the earth in such a crucial way that can be so easily missed in our fast-paced, digital world. I feel most at peace spending time outdoors, especially in warm sunny weather. As your doula, my goal is to strengthen your confidence in yourself and in your body's innate ability to grow your baby and safely bring them earth-side. To support you with knowledge & resources, optimizing your ability to follow your instincts and desires for your pregnancy & birth, to make informed choices without fear or uncertainty. My goal is to make sure nothing slips through the cracks, that you can have peace of mind, and continuity of care all the way through. Another goal of mine is to create a space where you can just be you. To enjoy your new little one, and each precious moment. To have freedom to rest and heal, knowing that the world won't fall apart around you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Birth Doulas - Lindsey Bussiere</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Lindsey Bussiere (Gardner) and I am a Birth Doula, yoga teacher, and educator. I live in Saskatoon with my supportive husband, our son, and three “fur children”. It has been my privilege to work with families for the last several years in the yoga community, but I wanted another way to support women through their pregnancies. Travelling to Calgary in February 2018, I trained with DONA International as a Birth Doula and took on my first client shortly afterwards. My experience has led me to work with all types of families - first/second/third babies, home births, and hospital births. After going through infertility and loss myself, I get especially excited to support anyone coming from that community as well. The birth world has changed drastically in the last century and continues to do so, which is why I find it essential to collaborate with like-minded professionals and deliver evidence based supports for families of all walks of life. I feel truly honoured to support families through a birth because each one is wild, beautiful, unique, and a life changing experience. When I am chosen as a Birth Doula, the ultimate goal is “healthy mom, healthy baby” but empowering a mama to make choices about her birth, and helping a family navigate the start of this new phase of life is truly rewarding.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Birth Doulas - Kayla Madder</image:title>
<image:caption>My name is Kayla Madder and I am a Birth & Postpartum Doula as well as a trauma-informed Birth Educator! I am a mother of three boys and have a wonderful husband. I am passionate about supporting new and expecting families because I see this as one of the most important (and under-supported) seasons in life. I come from a ten-year background in the Sciences (Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Immunology, Psychology), so keeping my work as a Doula evidence-based is critical to me. I want to offer you information and sources that are based on research, not anecdotes or trends. It is also important to me that I can provide you with support in a way that builds your confidence in your own decisions as a parent, and that when my time with your family is done (whether that be after hours, weeks, or months) that you feel empowered and knowledgeable as you move forward on your birthing and parenting journeys. I have personally been a single parent, student-parent, married parent, breastfeeding mom, pumping mom, formula feeding mom, combination feeding mom, and so on… In addition to my own experiences, I have spent several years supporting and advocating for families prior to becoming a Doula, so I can empathize with a wide range of family circumstances and choices. I come from a place of zero judgement and work hard to support you in your own choices for your child, your family, and yourself. I do this work because I am passionate about maternal and family wellness in this time when we can feel bombarded by conflicting information, feel judged for our choices, feel isolated from others and our prior selves, and when perinatal mood disorders (depression, anxiety, etc.) are on the rise. I truly work with the goal of happier, healthier parents, babies, and families, and would love to meet you to see how we could work together to best serve your family.</image:caption>

<image:title>Our Birth Doulas - Anno Bell</image:title>

<image:title>Our Birth Doulas - Shemiah Walker</image:title>

<image:title>Our Birth Doulas - Nicole Lynne</image:title>
<image:caption>Hello, I’m Nicole! I’m a wife and mother of four, based in Saskatoon, offering birth doula support and Reiki sessions to nurture emotional balance, relaxation, and confidence through pregnancy, labour, and early parenthood. My personal journey of navigating fertility challenges, miscarriage, and four unique births has given me a deep understanding of the physical, emotional, and energetic layers of welcoming a baby. These experiences shape the way I support families - helping them feel grounded, informed, and cared for throughout their journey. I also bring professional experience as a Special Education teacher, which strengthened my skills in communication, guidance, and problem-solving. I draw on these strengths when supporting growing families, offering calm clarity and practical help in moments that often feel overwhelming or new. I offer: Birth support Continuous emotional, physical, and informational support from early labour through delivery. I provide call or text support as labour begins and join you in-person when you’re ready for active support. Postpartum Support (for birth clients) Four-hour in-home or hospital visit(s) to help you settle in with your newborn, navigate feeding, ask questions, and reflect on your birth experience. Support is tailored to your pace and needs. Reiki sessions (add on) In-person or distance sessions to support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall well-being. Reiki can be added to doula care or booked separately. My goal is always to meet you where you are and support you in a way that feels calm, clear, and steady. I would be honoured to be part of your birth team and help you feel supported through this transition.</image:caption>
